Musical Improv 2: Sing On The Spot
Six Week Course | Adults Only (18+)
Techniques from Musical Improv 1 are refined and expanded as traditional song-forms and contemporary styles are explored. Students learn to sing songs on the spot through a thoughtful progression of exercises that incorporate improvised singing, music composition, and lyric writing. The collaboration of words and music is thoroughly yet gently examined through attention to scansion, prosody, and other songwriting craft. A balance of learning to be simultaneously in the mind, body, heart, and present moment is created through ritualized musical practice and sound-play.
